Loreto Hockey Club Centenary Celebration!

What a day—and what a club.

We marked our centenary in style with a brilliant, action-packed day that brought the whole Loreto community together. From the start, there was a great buzz around the club, with a lively junior blitz running alongside the Rathfarnham Concert Band, and the grounds looking fantastic.

There was plenty for everyone to enjoy, with garden games, face painting, and a busy tuck shop raising funds for the new Loreto South Sudan in Aweil, South Sudan.

We were delighted to welcome special guests, including the Presidents of Hockey Ireland and Leinster Hockey, and the Director General of EuroHockey, along with our trustees, sponsors, members of the Loreto Order, and many friends of the club. It was particularly special to have Stephanie Graham with us, who first joined the club back in 1952.

Our President, Niamh Kealy, shared a few words during the day — a lovely reminder of what makes Loreto such a strong and special community.

We also launched the 1926 Club —a fund to support the future of the club—and announced an exciting new coaching initiative. Thanks to the generous support of Susan Spence, we’ll be introducing a Head of Coaching role to support and develop our coaches, and help every Loreto player reach their full potential.

League success for our 1st Team!

We rounded off the day with a match against Ulster Elks, celebrating our 1st team’s EYHL league win. After a thrilling game, Loreto came out on top in a 1 v 1 shootout, marking an incredible season and a third EYHL title in a row.
